Reposting and remixing

Remixing reels and reposting photos, here’s a quick guide to both.

Level: Easy

There’s a few different things to know before we get started! I’ll explain both methods below.

Remixing allows you to add to and share a reel. This is a great, simple way to share content on your feed, but it doesn’t work well on static posts.

Reposting a picture is slightly different. You can always share it to your story, but if you want to add it to your grid, you either need to message the user and request to be a collaborator, or screenshot their original post.

You can be added as a collaborator on a reel, rather than mixing – but this is a good back-up option!

Remixing

1 – tap the elipsis (…) at the top of the reel to bring up the options, and hit “Remix

2 – it will then open as a new reel for you to edit

3- it will then prompt you to add something to the reel – like text or a sticker. It’s nice to thank the original creator – great reel from Henry!
4 – You’re ready to post! Make sure to tag the original creator and thank them in the caption.

Reposting

If you haven’t been added as a collaborator, it is possible to screen shot and post a static post.

There are “repost” apps that allow you to do this, but they usually add a watermark to the photo.

1 – Take your screenshot! You can do this by holding down the lock key and up volume button at the same time.
2 – when this window pops up, drag the corners of the box around the picture, then press “done” , to crop out all the gubbins.
3 – you should now have the cropped photo in your Camera Roll, ready to post!
4 – head back to Insta and post as normal, remembering to tag the original creator.
